Vision

BIOS exists to ignite ideas, empower builders, and celebrate creativity. It's where students step out of classrooms and into collaboration, a place to experiment, fail fast, and rebuild stronger.

BIOS is more than coding; it's problem-solving, storytelling, and imagination in motion. From the first spark of an idea to the final pitch, every participant experiences the innovation cycle: learn, build, break, rebuild, and showcase.

A platform for student innovation at Thapar Institute, always rebooting.

Description

BIOS Hackathon is the flagship hackathon of the CSED Department, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, a convergence of developers, designers, thinkers, and dreamers.

Across intense rounds of brainstorming, building, and mentorship, teams transform raw ideas into working prototypes that solve real-world problems.

BIOS welcomes students from all years and circuits, creating a rare space where first-year enthusiasm meets final-year expertise.

What Defines BIOS

  • Inclusive: from first-years discovering hackathons to seniors chasing breakthroughs.
  • Collaborative: powered by mentorship, peer learning, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Future-Oriented: solutions that matter beyond the event, in research, products, and communities.
  • Cultural: not just a competition, but a legacy of curiosity, creativity, and excellence.

With its tagline “Bringing Innovation On-Stage,” BIOS isn't just an event; it's a celebration of building.

Every edition showcases what happens when students imagine fearlessly and deliver relentlessly.
