If your CORE or FRONTIER team previously requested a switch to Open Innovation or Research, we have carried that preference over as a draft entry for each team member. Your original team has not been switched. Each member should sign in, open Dashboard → Open Innovation & Research, and select Manage entry for the relevant track. If you see “Needs your confirmation,” choose your category, check the prefilled details and college ID, accept the terms, and press Confirm entry. Each person must do this for themselves. If you want to participate together, one member can then create a separate add-on team and share its code with the others. If you registered for Open Innovation or Research under the earlier system, your entry has also been carried over. Please check its status on the same page. If it says submitted or approved, you do not need to register again. If it says “Needs your confirmation,” complete the steps above.

You can join Open Innovation, Research Track, or both—even if you are already in a CORE or FRONTIER team. These entries are separate: joining an add-on will not change your existing team, mode, or screening submission. SEED participants are not eligible for these add-ons. To take part: 1. Sign in and go to Dashboard → Open Innovation & Research. 2. Choose Enter Open Innovation or Enter Research Track. 3. Select your category, check your college details and ID, accept the terms, and submit your entry. 4. Participate on your own, or create or join a separate team for that add-on using its team code. Each add-on team can have up to four members. You can have a different team in each add-on. Every person must submit their own entry before joining an add-on team.

Explore a question that matters to you or present research you’ve already developed. If you’re new to research, you can use a guided problem statement, attend mentoring on 30 October, and present on 1 November. If you don’t need mentoring, you can present directly on 1 November. The IEEE Member ID field is optional. Research is a separate add-on track. You can enter individually or with a separate team of up to four, even if you’re already in CORE or FRONTIER. Your existing team and screening submission stay unchanged. To enter, sign in and go to Dashboard → Open Innovation & Research → Enter Research Track. Each person must submit their own entry. If you previously expressed interest and see “Needs your confirmation,” check your details and confirm your entry there.

Bring an idea of your own to BIOS. Newcomers can work on a problem they care about, get mentorship on 30 October, and present on 31 October. Startups with an idea or pitch deck can skip mentorship and present directly on 31 October. Open Innovation is a separate add-on track. You can enter individually or with a separate team of up to four, even if you’re already in CORE or FRONTIER. Your existing team and screening submission stay unchanged. You may also enter Research Track separately. To enter, sign in and go to Dashboard → Open Innovation & Research → Enter Open Innovation. Each person must submit their own entry. Screening results will be announced on a rolling basis between 22 and 26 October. Keep an eye out so you do not miss any important updates!

A final submission window will be open from 01:00 AM to 04:00 AM IST on 21st October. This extension has been granted in view of the large number of teams that missed the original deadline due to Dussehra. This is your final opportunity to submit your project.

The screening deadline has been extended to 20th October, EOD. This is the final extension, and no submissions will be entertained after the deadline. Participants who have already submitted can edit and update their submissions until the deadline.
