BIOS V2
Participation Terms
Rules that apply when you register, join a team or submit work.
Version 2026-10-04
Eligibility and accurate information
Participants must meet the eligibility rules for their selected mode and provide accurate registration information. Organisers may reject or revoke a registration when information is false, incomplete or cannot be verified.
Mode and team
CORE and FRONTIER participants may change mode while teamless during Screening. Joining a team in the other mode changes the participant's mode after confirmation. Each member's mode and team membership become final when the team first submits in Screening. Mode changes also close when Screening ends. Every member must complete their own profile, verification and acceptance. SEED and FORGE follow their separate eligibility rules.
Submissions
Teams must submit their own work before the stated deadline and follow the required format. A team may update a submission only when the round permits resubmission. Organisers may remove unsafe, unlawful, copied or misleading material.
Judging and shortlisting
Organisers and appointed judges assess submissions using the announced process. Shortlisting decisions appear on the participant dashboard. Decisions may change if eligibility or integrity checks identify a problem.
Project ownership and display
Participants retain ownership of their work. By submitting, the team permits BIOS to review the material and display approved project information for event administration, judging and the public project gallery.
SEED and FORGE
SEED students require school verification and signed guardian consent. FORGE access is limited to eligible FRONTIER teams and may include additional rules set by the relevant industry partner.
Event changes
Organisers may update schedules, venues or operational rules when necessary. Material changes will be announced through the platform or official BIOS channels.
